Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition

So last week the new season of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition started. Are you watching that show? If the answer is no, click on the banner to the left and treat yourself to some episodes from Season 1. You will not regret it. Getting to watch the transformation these people make in a year is absolutely inspiring. It really shows you that if you put your mind to it, even the impossible can happen. It doesn't hurt that Chris Powell is pretty attractive...I've just sayin. But seriously, every Sunday I urge everyone to tune and watch. You won't regret it.

The Witch of Agnesi

I have a small obsession with the free and inexpensive books Amazon offers through the Kindle. I have about 60+ books on mine right now just waiting to be read. The Witch of Agnesi is one of those books I recently finished.

My biggest issue with this book is that it says it is for Grade 10 and up, so it is considered "young adult".I, personally, am not sure teenagers would be interesting in reading a book where Bonnie, the main character, is in her 50s. That being said, I myself really enjoyed reading it. First we meet Bonnie, a sarcastic math teacher who also mentors a small group of the smartest students who take part in an annual "Knowledge Bowl". At this event the story takes a turn when the smartest kid in school goes missing. From there, it's a roller coaster while Bonnie, her new love interest Armen, and the police try to find out where the student went and who is responsible as other students end up dead.

This is one book I actually found myself drawn into. It's a who-dun-it that kept me guessing until the very end of the book. I'm not sure I would buy the other books in the series, but I would definitely recommend the first of the Bonnie Pinkwater series to anyone who enjoys a quick mystery to read.

Ultimately, I'd rate this 4/5 Stars

World of Warcraft: The Last Guardian

So I play World of Warcraft quite a bit and have read a few of the Warcraft Novels. I recently read this one and I must say, while the story is good it felt so incredibly rushed. You get a good idea of the main character Khadgar early on, but only learn a little bit of Medivh. A lot of time is spent on his first few days as his "assistant" but then it quickly moves to what I assume to be a month or so ahead, and the rest is just as quick. Another main character, Garona, is introduced and unlike the initial relationship between Khadgar and Medivh, you don't learn much about Garona's relationship with either other than they trust each other. The story itself is good, don't get me wrong but I feel so much more could've been explored and explained in this book that seemed to be glossed over.

Overall I'd give this 3.5/5 Stars
